REGIONAL SALES MANAGER – KZN

INTRODUCTION:

A vacancy exists for an experienced, entrepreneurial Regional Sales Manager to lead a team of employees to meet revenue and volume-based targets.

INTERESTED APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO:

  • Manage the sales area, KwaZulu-Natal.
  • Lead and motivate the allocated sales team to achieve the overall regional sales objectives.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the direct reports including, but not limited to, call planning, call reporting, quotation processing and other company processes.
  • Conduct regular calls with the allocated sales team to assist with customer relationship management, technical support and/or resource allocation requests.
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis on existing and potential customers as part of the sales process.
  • Conduct cold calling at new/potential customers along with a focused growth strategy for the existing customers in the allocated sales area.
  • Analyse market potential, track sales and status reports, and report findings and service or product enhancements to management.
  • Generate management reports on customer needs.
  • Develop and implement long and short-term sales strategies.
  • Actively manage the region/branch debtor’s book for the allocated sales portfolio.
  • Participate in and represent the company at open days/trade shows, with the ability to conduct physical product demonstrations.
  • Manage the branch stock processes as well as all warehouse employees.
  • Manage the region/branch sales and expenses to ensure a profitable return.
  • Manage a personal sales book by building customer relationships and meeting set targets.
  • Research, develop, manage and drive implementation of account plans to maximise current business and the development of new business opportunities and growth. These plans should contribute directly to the Grinding Techniques Sales Plan.
  • Take full accountability for the achievement of revenue streams, profitability and volume growth, and other key performance areas/indicators for direct accounts in the portfolio.
  • Effectively negotiate, manage and administer contractual obligations, pricing and other administrative requirements of accounts in the portfolio.
  • Develop processes to measure, track, report and communicate account performance to ensure specific focus, and utilise these processes to monitor trends, achievements and performance against targets.
  • Ensure that stock and expenditure are controlled within agreed limits.
  • Lead stock takes as and when required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful applicant must have:

  • A Technical Qualification and/or 5-7 years’ proven sales experience in a technical field.
  • Knowledge of the abrasive industry would be an advantage.
  • Ability to speak English and one other South African language.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Must be willing to travel.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIREMENT

  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Must be MS Office literate, advanced level.
  • CRM management, call planning and sales reporting.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Entrepreneurial flair with excellent time management skills.
  • Must be able to navigate complex challenges.
  • Must have a strong strategic approach to regional growth and development.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
